The University for Continuing Education Krems is on the lookout for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Migration and Globalisation Department and contribute to a project focused on the Ethics of Migration Policy Dilemmas. If you’ve recently completed your PhD and want to publish your work or kickstart new research, this is a brilliant opportunity to do just that.

What’s the role?

We’re looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher interested in conducting independent research on ethical issues related to migration policymaking. The research should fit within the scope of the Dilemmas project, which examines ethical migration challenges. You’ll work closely with Prof. Julia Mourão Permoser and the wider team, collaborating on publications, workshops, and funding applications.

What we’re offering:

What we’re looking for:

We’re seeking someone with a PhD in Political Science, Sociology, Economics, Geography, or a related discipline, with a passion for migration studies. You should have experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals and strong English writing skills. Knowledge of political theory or migration ethics is a big plus, as is experience securing third-party funding.

Here’s the ideal profile:

  • PhD in a relevant field (Political Science, Sociology, etc.)
  • Published in peer-reviewed journals
  • Strong English skills (C1 or higher)
  • Passionate about migration studies
  • Familiar with migration ethics and political theory
  • Experience with funding proposals
